Celebrating Nick's birthday in one of his favorite places ever ever ever.

Franz Joseph is a bright white glacier sandwiched between volcanic, craggy mountains on the South Island of New Zealand. Nick had studied abroad in New Zealand almost nine years ago. It was one of his first trip out of North America and one of the most beautiful. Since our first date, he had talked about wanting to show me this gorgeous country—but was so worried he was romanticizing its beauty in his memory. I'm pretty sure from all these photos you can tell his memory served him right.
